Seawater analysis with the Influx mariner (BD)

Even though the Influx mariner (BD) is a jet in air flow cytometer, its conception makes it very sensitive. For instance, it can analyze phytoplankton with a very good resolution as illustrated by this Figure. The seawater has been collected in the North-Western Meditterranean Sea (nearby the Frioul Island, off the Marseille city ; depth : 15m). The sample is fixed with Glutaraldehyde (more suited than formaldehyde for phytoplankton as there is no trace of methanol in the commercial solutions).
